As Designers and Creative Professionals we are always seeking out the latest in typographic movements and trends to see what is considered the kudeta of typography. Myfonts.com just released the list of their hottest fonts of 2008. if you havent checked out their most recent installment at http://new.myfonts.com/

Myfonts.com featured fonts of 2008 can be seen on their January 2009 Newsletter by clicking here.

Myfonts an Internet company located in Cambridge, Massachusetts their focus is creating a great place to find and purchase fonts.

In addition to their extensive font database of great affordable typefaces they also have a font identification service called “what the font“.

What the font lets you upload an image of a logo or typeface and it will scour their database and identify the font being used.

We have used “what the font” to save many long hours browsing Suitcase or Adobe Type Manager looking around for a fontname for someone.

Being able to recognize various Glyphs in the image and their recognition system allows for a great deal of time saving when you have an image from a client with a fontface that you either haven’t used or is buried in your “don’t use” folder.
