It appears that earlier today (August 06, 2009) that Twitter.com, the ever popular social micro-blogging giant, fell prey to a DOS (Denial Of Service) attack. According to Twitter’s official “status” website at about 10:30am EST, they were aware of problems on the site and made an entry on their status blog. Soon after, they posted an alert regarding a Denial of Service attack.
The site was soon back up and functioning for most. Naturally, “DOS” and other variants quickly became trending topics.
