Web 2.0 is a buzzword which represents a new movement on the internet. this new movement is a culmination of technologies and utilities to be able connect and communicate.

through this communication and connectivity these Web 2.0 movements have given way to social networking sites such as myspace and facebook, blogs, and video sharing sites such as youtube and vimeo.

the web is going in the direction of a full service platform where web applications act as clouds that people can connect to and through the use of web application software have their information stored in one location.

in addition to social networking, blogging and other forms of content syndication and peer to peer communication web 2.0 is also alot about integration.

API’s or Application Programming Interface is a set of data structures and routines that allow programmers to connect, interact, and extend ones platform.

one of the bigger API’s many are aware of is facebook and myspace. when these sites opened up their API it allowed developers to start developing facebook applications and other engaging online experiences.
